Determining whether to undergo a plastic surgery procedure such as breast augmentation is a big decision. I guide my Tampa patients through the many important concerns related to their procedure, with particular emphasis on:

Choosing the appropriate breast implant size and style is crucial for my patients’ overall satisfaction with their results. In order to help them make the right choice, I ask my patients to bring in several photos that best represent how they want to look after surgery. This gives me a good idea of their expectations and personal preferences. Then I allow my patients to try on different breast implant sizers so that they can see how they will look with various implant options.

  • Complementary Procedures

It’s very common for my breast augmentation patients to request a secondary procedure to be done at the same time, such as a breast lift, liposuction, or a tummy tuck. Combining procedures in this way is often referred to as a mommy makeover. A mommy makeover is typically used to address areas of the body that are most affected by pregnancy, such as the breasts and abdomen, but it can also include facial procedures. Undergoing more than 1 procedure can create more comprehensive results.

  • Planning for Recovery

Women having breast augmentation surgery must take into account the downtime required for their procedure. This way, they can request time off from work or arrange for child care for the first few days following surgery. Typically, my patients need to be away from work or normal activities for 5 to 7 days. Light exercise can be resumed in about 2 weeks, while more demanding physical activities should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
